World Autism Awareness Day is an internationally recognised day that takes place on the 2nd of April every year. The day raises awareness of Autism suffers worldwide.
For the remainder of April we are running World Autism Month at Experia to help highlight the importance of raising awareness of Autism, this will involve sharing a fundraising blogpost series to give you ideas to help raise money for your next sensory project, as well as spreading the word on everything Autism. Be sure to keep checking the blog for our next instalment.
Many people get overwhelmed when it comes to fundraising, however, there really is no need. The key is to be creative and have lots of fun! If you stick to this mindset you really can’t go wrong! OK, so where do I start?
We all know that money doesn't grow on trees and that budgets are forever getting tighter and tighter, which is why Experia has created this Fundraising blogpost series. It aims to give you some great fundraising ideas and tips to get you going, along with a guide of how to write a press release to make the most of your events.
Some charities are always looking to give money to establishments that are looking to purchase multisensory equipment. Just a few are mentioned below, however there are many more out there:
- The Lords Taverners lordstaverners.org
- Wooden Spoon woodenspoon.com
- KIDS kids.org.uk
- Big Lottery Fund biglotteryfund.org.uk
Visit their websites, complete the application forms carefully and wait for a response.
Have you thought about writing to local companies to ask for their assistance? Having a project sponsored is a popular way of getting the multisensory equipment that you need. Many companies would rather do this as they can physically see what they are buying rather than contributing to a pot of funds. A tangible sensory room or range of products makes good PR, your sponsor will be able to shout about their generous donation to all their Partners and Customers. In addition to helping the community and gaining a positive profile, donations can also attract tax relief for the company too, let the company know what’s in it for them!
Don’t forget that we are here to help, so if you need any advice or additional items to make your dream sensory environment a reality just pick up the phone and speak to a member of the Experia Team!
As part of this Fundraising blog post series we will also give you lots of ideas of how to go about raising money, so be sure to check back soon!
