Miocare Group Sensory Room

The MioCare (Made In Oldham Care) Group provides valuable help and support to people with a variety of needs to ensure that they can get the most out of life. This is done by promoting choice, well-being and, ultimately, independence. The Group’s ambition is to set the standard for person-centred care in the sector. To help achieve this, they set about developing a bespoke sensory room in order to create meaningful and engaging experiences for existing MioCare Group service users, as well as the wider community in Oldham and Greater Manchester.

MioCare Group staff worked closely with experienced advisors from Experia to design the best sensory solution possible, with the new room including…

The room provides a multi-sensory experience, allowing users to gain confidence and through this a better quality of life. Use of the room will help develop essential life skills including language, hand-eye-coordination and awareness. It provides users with a chance to establish their independence in a safe and welcoming environment.

Existing MioCare Group service users who wish to access the sensory room are now able to book a session, meaning they no longer need to pay for a private option, which will save them valuable travel time and money.

The designing and installation of the room is an excellent investment and as well as it being an offer for their existing service users, the MioCare Group are actively advertising the new sensory room in their community, finding further individuals that will benefit.

Terry Evans (a Service Manager at the MioCare Group) enjoyed working with Experia, saying…

“From the initial contact right through to on-site advice, planning and installation – our experience of working with Experia was a very positive one. A great service at a competitive price! The MioCare Group has long been looking to offer its own Sensory Room package and the results delivered by Experia have far exceeded our expectations. In the short time the room’s been in use, we’ve seen some tremendous outcomes for the people that need such a facility. It is a real asset that is fast becoming more and more in demand.”
